PHOENIX, ARIZONA             2014

A deliberate departure from conventional compartmentalized office space, this 6,000sf office for property management company Chamberlin + Associates LLC is designed as an open landscape of spaces.  Large, freestanding design elements are used to define and delineate spaces within the office while preserving visual connectivity and a feeling of openness throughout.  An exterior entry court creates an inlet of nature to the central reception hub, marked by a subtly facetted black monolithic desk.  The entry court uses light, water, and plants preceded by a large black pivoting door and a perimeter of Palo Brea trees to heighten a sense of separation between the office and bustling Seventh Street beyond.  ‘Inside-out’ workstations are designed for two-member teams to work together and host members from other teams at small group tables.  Our team designed and managed fabrication of all aspects of the workstations, to include the large white Hemi Light pendants. Other furnishings we designed for the office include conference, community, and group tables, Meter Table coffee tables, La'Sofa, Eye Fountain water feature and many other bespoke pieces throughout the office.  This project was done in collaboration with Philip Graham Combs Architects.  Photography by Matt Winquist
